Close ups

Kaytence contines to be a joy. She has broken out with that yucky infant acne, and managed to scratch her face up, but somehow she's still beautiful. I have found that getting a picture of a baby that really looks like them is difficult, but I think that the one of her in the pink dress is close. She has a goofy expression in the picture with the purple outfit.

Sleeping Beauty

Well, our little break from school is over, and we are back to at least a partial routine. Because of that (and the preparations up to it) I haven't taken too many picutres lately. This is just a picture to replace the bath one on top! Kaytence really is our Sleeping Beauty though. She sleeps great (in her own room for the first time last night), and compared to her rough housing brothers how can she be anything but beautiful?

Kayte's first bath

A real bath! Now this isn't the most spactacular picture ever, but it is special because Chatham took it.He was the only one with me, and was excited to help. He did a great job keeping his siser modest don't you think?

She surprised us by loosing her cord at just under two weeks old - unlike all her older brothers who took at least three weeks! She also made my day by loving the bath instead of screaming.

We gave Kaytence a sponge bath this aftenoon and Chatham asked if I could curl her hair. Surprisingly we got the look of a curl, at least until it dried!

More about Kaytence

Kaytence went to church on Sunday, but she doesn't know it. She slept through the whole experience, but she was still able to show off her pretty, though blue, outfit.

Chatham always wants to hold his baby sister! He is very gentle with her and it is very sweet.

Jack has a special blue blanket from his aunt Kayce (actually he has more than one because of how much he loves them). So when Kaytence got her own yellow blanket in the mail it took a while to explain that they were not his. Once he understood he took it to heart, and is continually bringing them to her or covering her up.

This is just Kayte with her Daddy, he's such a softy when it comes to her - he finally got his little girl, and he is enjoying every minute of it.

Life goes on

Something that didn't make the headlines when it happened is that while Keri and Kayte were still in the hospital, Chatham paid us a visit, right after he was seen in the ER. He had been riding a bike down a hill and didn't see the bump at the bottom, his bike hit him on the head, and as a result he needed stitches. David cut them out yesterday.

If you can look past the funny face T.J.always seems to make when a camera is pointed his way, you can check out his new glasses. He wasn't so sure about them at first, but I think he's adjusting well.

One Week Old

Kaytence is one week old today, and here is a picture of her. She is doing Great. She is only waking Mom up twice a night and sleeping about 10 hours, and as you can see she is awake during the day. This morning Keri yelled to the boys that she needed one of them to hold Kayte and they all raced to her! She has quite a fan club in her brothers, including Jack who always makes sure she has her blanket and pacifier, as well as lots of kisses.

Kaytence is home from the hospital and she and Mom are working on figuring out the new routine. One thing is for sure, she likes to eat! And Mom is happy she takes the pacifier.

Jack stayed with Dean, Grace and Katherine Good, and when they brought him to the hospital he was just thrilled with his sister! Though when Mom holds Kayte, Jack tries to sit in her lap he has been very good with her.

Hailey and Hannah got to visit the hospital with their aunt Carolyn. They both enoyed the baby and asked to visit the nursery on the floor so they could see other babies before they went home.

A New Name for the Blog????

Since Kayte has arrived, should we change the name of the blog??? Or just let it be and assume she will live up to her part of the name?
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. We are very thankful to God for this addition to our family and would ask that you continue to pray for us to be parents that train up our children in the way they should go.

Kayte's Introduction

Evelyn Radcliffe, one of the Great-Grandmothers and Matriachs of the family.

CJ, a closet member of FFT (Future Fathers in Training), comes out. We are proud he had the courage to do this.

I'm not sure if I believe this story, but supposedly this is Uncle Jason's first time holding a newborn? I may have to edit this.
