Ice Cream!!!!!

Dad decided we needed a break from all the house stress so we headed down the road for some ice cream (even though Kayte was already in her pajamas!). She sat patiently as the rest of us enjoyed our treat.

More progress on the house...

Our internet has been down for several days...oh how we rely on it!!! Here are a few more pictures. This is the front of the house, however it it only the basement so far...we have a lot of dirt to push back in that hole. The other shots are from random angles. They are suppose to pour more tomorrow, so we'll have better pictures.

What a difference teeth make

This is Chatham at his family Birthday party his best friend, (with the bonus of also being his cousin) Todd. They are in that toothless stage of life right now....That tooth Todd is sticking out has since come out.

Up, up and away.

This is the basement so far. Concrete comes on Wednesday to fill in the forms! This shot is from the front left of the house. In the background are our woods. The hole in the front is under our front door. The boys couldn't figure out how to get out! They are obviously all in the basement, but Mak and TJ are under my future pantry and Chatham is under my kitchen - near my stove.

Summer Fun

Last week we took our three oldest to a rock wall. Mak soared to the top! He just looked like he belonged up there, with his long skinny legs. We have discovered that Kayte really likes the piano. Until she could pull herself up she was content to play at their feet, but now that she can stand she tries to be like her big brothers and join them when they practice.
This was at the hotel this weekend. Here he is obviously posing.
Here he is sound asleep in the middle of the night.

Wedding Weekend

It's official. C.J. and Alison are finally married! We had a great, busy weekend celebrating the event!
Chatham and Hailey, being good, but secretly just wanting to get inside for some food.
Organizing the pictures with such a large wedding party isn't the easiest. Here's abby lending a hand with the flowers of the Mom's (like me) in the wedding. All the boys got dressed up just like the last time, but we were spread out and there weren't as many photo ops.

Here's Aunt Alison, but this picture does not do her justice. She was beautiful, calm and fun the whole day.
Being the man that Uncle Wesley is he helped out by holding flowers too :)

More progress

Here's a closer look at the forms, I opened one up to show the contrast, ingore the fact that I tilted it too much.
You can see the split level of the basement in this shot. I took this picture standing at what will be our front door.
Hard to believe this is a construction site when this is all the wood there is.
More of the forms waiting to be put up.

Flat Legos

Tune in in the next weeek to see how these things become the walls of our house. They open up and then click together like legos....I ran out of memory right after this picture, I'll take more soon.

progress on our future home.

When we returned from Florida we had a huge hole where our house will be - So excited about having a basement!

Yesterday the first of the Cement trucks arrived, and we now have footers poured! Things are moving quickly, at least right now. Things are seeming very real, especially now that checks are being signed!

Family Reunion

The kids and I went with my parents and grandmother to a Ewing family Reunion in Florida. So as not to bore anyone I have only put in one group picture, and it's of the 2nd cousins.

Jack is the one who provided the adventure on this trip. This room looks nice and safe, but he managed to get locked in it, alone, in the dark. We had to send for the key. He was in there at least 15 minutes, but he calmed down once he felt my fingers under the door.

s'mores, teeth and golf

This is William and Jack. Willliam is a friend of my Dad's who came over a couple times while we were out there. He and Jack hit it off and had fun together. Though I think we wore Willy out!

Check out the wasp nest that my Dad found!

We made way too many s'mores! Mak says his record was 8 marshmallows roasted at once. They made special roasting sticks for the occasion.

We also had the major event of a tooth pulling. Bubba makes it extra dramatic by using pliers!

And Jack loves to golf. He's still working on his swing though.
