Say that again...

Mak has been learning about prefixes and suffixes. I didn't realize how much he had grasped the idea until the other day. He's come up with some fun sentences as a result.
My Favorites:
"Mom, T.J. keeps disacknowledging my knowledge"
And
"T.J. stop disadmiring Mom"

Cute and Available (Well, maybe in a decade)

Just in case there are any six year old girls out there looking for the athletic outdoorsy type.

Chatham came out of his room with his basketball shirt and 'coon skin cap and I couldn't resist taking his picture (he had to turn the cap sideways so you could see the tail in the picture).

History Fair

Since David and In are in charge of the History fair each year it is natural for the boys to do a yearly project. T.J. took 2nd place for his presentation of the Life of Louis Pasteur. He wrote an excellent paper if asnyone is interested.

Mak took 3rd for his re-telling of the great Ohioan
Thomas Edison

Chatham did his on Tisquantum, the last Patuxet
However I didn't get a picture so until I find one here is a cute one of him with his sister!

Spelling

Tuesday Night Chatham and TJ were in the spelling bee.
Here is Chatham holding his "participation ribbon" with winner, his good friend Chloe

This is T.J. spelling his last word, he was so bummed that the other kids lost so quickly because he wanted to spell more. Needless to say he brought home the trophy!

California Girls

Last Weekend Kayte and I flew to California to surprise (and finally meet) her Aunt Kayce for her bridal shower (she got to meet her two Great Grandmothers too!)

I think she liked what we got her!
G.G.and Kayte had some bonding time, in the wee hours of the morning. We found them sleeping like this!

Great Grandma McKeighan was such a trooper, she went along everywhere despite the fact that she had a rough fall earlier that week and had a slight break in her back!
Kayte was such a trooper. She was an angel on the plane rides, as well as in the airport - including our 4 hour delay, where we sat/slept in the airport from 9:15 until we boarded at 3:00am! That was Monday...wait until you hear about the rest of our week! But the weekend was so much fun, I wouldn't have traded it for anything!

Kayte has started her own exercise regiment. She enjoys her crucnhes most of all. It's the funniest thing, but it's like she's trying to sit up and she does it all the time.

She also has a new hairdo. David doesn't love it, because, though it's cute from the front, she is bald in the back from rubbing her head in the car seat, so it looks funny. T.J. doesn't like her hair like this though because it's too "girly"

Mak's new look

Ok, picture this. Kayte was actually napping so TJ, Chatham and I were playing around with Jack while Mak "studied" his spelling words. A While later Mak came in and had a green tint to his entire face. Apparently he had been using green clay on his face. These pictures were taken after the first washing. His goofy face is something he loves to do, but the other shot shows his green tint better.

Kayte's name & face

I've had a few questions about how to pronouce Kaytence's name. We started out with Cadence, and the name slowly evolved. We realized we didn't like the look of "Cady" for a nick name, so we started throwing out different spellings. We ended with Kaytence due to inspiration from her aunt's name Kayce (pronounced K.C.), can you see it when we shorten it to Kayte? We are pronouncing it Kate, and her full name still sounds like Cadence.
I am not sure if you can really see, but it's worth a try. When Kayte's hair is wet and her hair is flat she looks a lot like this picture of her big brother Mak...at least to us. What do you think? Click on the picture for a closer look.

Mostly we get the comment that she looks like TJ, but we don't see it.

Kayte...again!

Mak is holding Kayte... one of the few times it has been voluntary. Our boys, are, well, boys, and not really into babies.

No, this is not a picture of Kayte after her first meal...this is an hour after a bottle. She has a big spit up problem! (this picture is a day after she started medication...don't think it's working yet.)

But she has successfully learned to roll over, and does so immediately after being set down!

Can you see the curl? It's there when her hair is wet!

Oh, and she is now a LOUD singer! Living up to her "noise" part of the blog name. It's a pleasant noise though.
