Chasing the light

video

The boys have new toys that shine a red target light. All were entertained by this. First Kayte had fun chasing it, but Jack was the real goofy one. He's hamming it up in the video.

Just Kayte

Kayte was so cute the other day. First

standing at the bathroom sink for about 5 minutes trying without success to turn the faucet on, then hiding in the cabinets. That's been a favorite for all the kids at some point.

She also got her first "haircut" really just a clip of her bangs so that there isn't always hair in her face.

Video Games

The boys enjoyed playing extra video games over the break. It's hard not to laugh when you watch Chatham play. This video clip gives a good example. Watch him and T.J. They are both playing, but only one of them is moving.

Tired Jack

This is classic America's Funniest Home Video material. Jack fell asleep at the dinner table tonight. We only caught the end of it, but it is funny. It just illustrates how tired we all feel from getting home at 2:00 a.m. this morning.

Adventures in Vacationing

We took a family vacation last week...traveling is quite an adventure with 25 people. - Jack made sure to read the safetly instructions on each flight - Being at the beach was a lot of fun, getting there and back was interesting. We managed to make it to the airport by 5:30 a.m. and get through security only to be delayed long enough to shorten our layover to basically nothing. We RAN to catch our next flight only to be told the gates were closed. It wasn't just our group there were about 10 other people...so over 30 people not on a flight that only departs once a day. After supervisors came out they reopened the gates for us. This time consuming process did have the benefit of giving our luggage time to get on the plane - all but one piece. When we finally got on the road toward our hotel we hit a road block and thought we could out smart it....that turned a long wait into a longer windier drive.
We really did enjoy the beach, waves and strawberry smoothies, and we are working hard at forgetting the different food poisoning and flu episodes half a dozen of us had.
Heading home we went to re-fuel and ended up with unleaded in a diesel engine and had to drain the tank before actually going to the airport. When we got to our layover we were told there was a two hour wait on our luggage, which was time we didn't think we had before our flight (we were wrong), so we headed up to Gate 26, but were then changed to Gate 28 and finally to Gate 32 and at each Gate we were told the same thing...the flight was delayed and overbooked so several of us didn't have seats.
In the end we all got home, some by direct flight, some by a flight and a rental car between 1:45 and 2:30 a.m. When going we lost one piece of luggage, when returning only one piece made it. But by the next day all had been returned. So hard to get back into any routine after an adventure like that.... We need a break to recouperate from our vacation!
