Winter Wonder

The other morning I had to brave the cold to get a picture - and it doesn't even do it justice. It was so frigid out that the dew had frozen on the trees and it was just stunning! The snow has continued to fall, and with that comes several things. First is the need to shovel the walkway so that people can actually enter our home. We have boys for a reason and they were given this task. They took shifts, but we knew by the evidence left behind who had completed the job. Any guesses? And then there is the allure of that perfect snowman or fort...Unfortunately it is seldom accomplished! But we manage to have fun nonetheless.
Not too long after we got all bundled up and headed outside we realized it was one of those snow where it doesn't stick together. I know there is a scientific explanation that I once heard about it being too cold or something, but that doesn't help with making a snowman. So we moved on to digging out a tunnel. Very determined big brothers were very frustrated by a little girl who in reality was playing in the snow for the first time. She had no concept of "I shouldn't go there" and went everywhere with utter joy.

Even though she "ruined" their tunnel....
